What we are

A fabrication shop that races what it builds.

Mechanical Concepts is run by Mike Davis — a hands-on fabricator who races. Suspension geometry, custom A-arms, custom swingarms, full hybrid race builds. We engineer for the actual problems racers face on the line, not what a marketing team decided racers want.

We're not a parts catalog. Components are designed, cut, welded, and tested in our shop in Southern Oregon. CNC where it matters, TIG by certified hands, sheet metal fitted by feel when feel is what the part needs.

"What we're about is simple: ride it, race it, and let it evolve with the racers."

Case study · Sand

Only the swingarm changed.

Corey Blakesley's sand build with Mec-Con swingarm
"The bike feels like it's on rails."

With the stock swingarm I couldn't really push too hard or the rear end would get loose and unpredictable. Now I can push the rear end a lot harder. The only change I made is the swingarm.

I'm over 50 hours in on it now and not one issue.

The Riding Disciplines We Serve

From desert racing to weekend warriors—we've got you covered

Desert Racing

Desert racers have enough to worry about, and their chassis setup should not be one of them. Mec Con was born in the desert, and we know how important rock-solid and reliable setups are for finishing and winning races.

XC (Cross Country)

Cross Country racers need precise handling that doesn’t fade over the course of a race. The ability to carve between trees while the chassis remains planted for maximum traction is essential.

Dune (Sand Bike)

Going fast and smooth in the dunes is just about the most fun you can have on four wheels. Duners also want to look good while staying ahead of their riding buddies. Whether it’s drag racing or just hauling ass from point to point, we have your advantage covered.

MX

Low, wide, fast and ready to take big hits. That’s what wins MX races on today’s tracks. Racing (and winning) a season of MX is no easy task, and the last thing you want to worry about is repairing or constantly servicing inferior components.

WORCS

Perhaps one of the ultimate all-around tests of what a machine can do, WORCS racers need durability, protection and precision, and they like to look good while doing it! .

Sport & Recreation

Even if you don’t race, but want to be the fastest guy at the riding spot with the best-looking machine, Mec Con has you covered.
