Custom Builds
We don’t sell builds. We design them with you.

Owner-built. Race-tested.
Every MEC-CON build starts with a conversation. We’re a custom fabrication shop in Southern Oregon, owner-operated by Mike Davis.
Mike rides. Mike races. Mike welds. Every chassis decision goes through someone who’ll be racing one of these in the next month — not through a design committee or a stock catalog.
The hybrid build is what we’re known for
A different engine in a different chassis with a custom front end — geometry dialed for the discipline you’re running.
A hybrid quad isn’t a paint job and a sticker. The frame gets reinforced where it needs it. The A-arms, tie rods, and swingarm get rebuilt to widen and lengthen the stance, increase ground clearance, and add wheel travel. The result is a bike that handles the way the original platform never could.
“What we’re about is simple: ride it, race it, and let it evolve with the racers.” — Mike Davis
The build process
- ConsultA scheduled call with Mike to understand your discipline, your goals, your budget, and the platform you’re starting from. We require a $150 deposit to schedule it — fully refundable, applied to the build if you move forward. The deposit isn’t a fee. It’s a filter.
- DesignGeometry, materials, components. CAD where it earns its keep, by hand where it doesn’t.
- FabricationCNC cutting, TIG welding, high-grade materials. Every weld and gusset done in our Southern Oregon shop.
- TuningSuspension valving, geometry adjustments, real-world testing.
- DeliveryThe bike comes to you with full documentation of what was built and why.

What we build for, by discipline
Desert
Mec-Con was born in the desert. We know how important rock-solid and reliable setups are for finishing — and winning — a 400-mile race in 100-plus heat. Every desert build emphasizes durability, predictable handling, and rider comfort over hours.
GNCC & Cross-Country
Tight tree-lined tracks reward precise handling that doesn’t fade. We build for the ability to carve between trees while the chassis stays planted for maximum traction.
Sand & Dunes
Going fast and smooth in the dunes is just about the most fun you can have on four wheels. Drag-style or point-to-point, we build for the carve, the launch, and looking good.
MX & Supercross
Low, wide, fast, and ready to take big hits. Our MX builds focus on landing-shock absorption, mid-corner stability, and predictable air.
WORCS
One of the ultimate all-around tests of what a quad can do. WORCS racers need durability, protection, and precision — and they like to look good while doing it.
Custom Spec
Discipline not on the list? If you’re racing it, hauling ass on it, or building something nobody else has tried — we want to talk.
Ready to start a build?
Lead times depend on scope and shop load. Most builds run several weeks of fabrication once design is locked. We’ll set a realistic timeline on the first call — no pretending we can hit a deadline we can’t.
